Essays

Here are some essays which reflect my feelings and opinions about various issues in life. Some of these essays are by other people, although I intend that this section will eventually contain mostly original content.

Heaven and Hell. Here's a little story I wrote while coming to terms with some of the demons of my childhood.

The Year 2000 Bomb. Sometime in 1999 or early 2000, it appears possible that this Web site may become unavailable - along with every other Web site in the world. Read why, and if you have proof that I really don't need to be concerned, please send this proof to me!

Microsoft to Buy The U.S. Government. This tongue-in-cheek article by an anonymous person came into my mailbox recently. It was too good to throw it in the trash. Despite its humorous slant, it is a powerful commentary on trends in the computer industry, and the influence of the world's richest man.

Homophobia and the Bible. A transcript of a talk (he didn't like the word "sermon") given by Robert Karnan, minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Portsmouth, NH. This essay addresses the origins of homophobia in Western society, and the religious doctrine used to justify discrimination against and hostility towards lesbians and gay men.

Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome. This original essay addresses a serious illness which has been ignored and ridiculed for many years by government health agencies, the medical community, and the press.

Each of us has our own opinion, and I'll not be offended if you disagree with some of the ideas expressed here. I hope you will find these articles interesting and stimulating!

Under Construction!

I plan to add more articles soon.
