On the grid - 13 cars!  Lotus at the front: Yasi, Sentell, Johns, Kaemmer; then Hine in a Brabham  Sentell leads the mob through Ste. Devote and up the hill toward Casino Down towards Mirabeau. Kaemmer gets sideways; Hine's Brabham heaves into view round Casino.

Out of Mirabeau and down towards the Station Hairpin Out of Station and down towards Portiers...   Sentell and Yasi, sideways through the tunnel!  Out of the chicane and into Tabac, Sentell locks them up!

Up the hill for the second lap, and Sentell's Cosworth explodes... ...bits flying into the air. Sentell is forced to wait for half the field to pass before he can restart. Moments later, Kaemmer's Lotus expires against the haybales at Station. Is he regretting that realistic damage model? Hine, in third at this point, has a close call at Tabac, narrowly avoiding a spinning car

Tony Johns comes to grief at Gasometer. Hine moves up to second! Sentell, clawing his way back, gets sideways behind Hine exiting Casino Hine, struggling to hold onto second place, attempts an overly ambitous pass of a lapped car at Tabac... ...and pays the price.

...out of Mirabeau towards the Station hairpin... ...out of Station accelerating down toward Portiers...   ...through Portiers toward...  ...the tunnel! It's not quite flat through here, and a slight mistake...let's not think about it!

Out of the tunnel, toward the dreaded chicane - note the water of the harbor in the distance...  ...out of the chicane and down toward Tabac Round Gasometer - note the haybales in the mirrors... ...and up past the pits...
