My Illustrious Racing Career
My brother Nate Hine and I built a Formula Vee race car and raced it for several years in SCCA regional and national competition. We also raced 100cc two-stroke karts on dirt ovals and paved ovals and road courses around New England. I also competed in a number of sports car endurance races, including 24 hour events at Mid-Ohio, Watkins Glen, and Nelson's Ledges, and I competed in Formula Ford as well. This has left a continuing interest in racing, and I continue to follow the CART and Formula One circuits on television and in the news media. |

Here is Adrian Fernandez driving an Indycar. I never quite got to drive one of these, for some reason. Alas. |
Nate and I recently undertook a new project which may lead us back to the race track, probably just for time trials. We're building a Cobra replica. Details are on my new Cobra pages.
Some years ago I was looking for an inexpensive and physically undemanding pursuit which would help me sharpen my reactions and coordination, and hone my mental acuity for real-time activities like competitive aerobatics. This led to the discovery of some terrific computer racing racing simulations, including my favorite, IndyCar Racing 2 by Papyrus.
My racing simulations page contains an overview of racing sims for those new to this field, as well as links to many sites that will be of interest to more experienced sim-racers. If you are brave enough, you can race with me.
